2nd Prize – 6th Bielski Festival of Visual Arts 2026
unLoc | visual shifting – an installation developing selected themes of the broader unLoc project – received the 2nd Prize of the Mayor of Bielsko-Biała at the 6th Bielski Festival of Visual Arts 2026.
Organised by Galeria Bielska BWA, the festival presents a diverse range of current artistic practices, languages and subjects explored by artists from Bielsko-Biała and the surrounding region. This year’s edition featured works by 151 artists. The festival’s awards were selected by an independent jury of experts in the field of visual arts: Prof. Grzegorz Hańderek, artist and Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice; Ewa Łączyńska-Widz, art historian, curator and Director of the BWA Tarnów; and Piotr Sarzyński, art critic, writer and editor at Polityka.
As stated by the festival organisers, the jury recognised unLoc | visual shifting as “an engaging artistic-research project opening up new perspectives for thinking about the ideological and architectural heritage of socialism.”
